My name is Benjamin Ariel Markus and I’m a filmmaker/animator from Seattle, Washington.  I write screenplays and make films in numerous mediums including live action, paper cut-outs, stop-motion and motion graphics.  At the moment I’m working toward completing my MFA in experimental animation at the California Institute of the Arts.  I did part of my undergrad at The Evergreen State College in Olympia, Washington where I studied experimental theatre, filmmaking and animation, and finished my senior year studying cinematography at FAMU in Prague, Czech Republic.

During the summer of 2012 I was offered an internship at Adobe as part of the Creative Help and Learning team.  Our group is responsible for helping the Adobe community by actively posting on the Adobe forums and delivering both creative and instructional content intended to better the user experience.  This blog was created for posts displaying video content, tutorials, educational material and interesting links specifically related to the topics of animation and filmmaking.

  1. Please let me know if you’re looking for a author for your blog. You have some really good articles and I believe I would be a good asset. If you ever want to take some of the load off, I’d love to write some articles for your blog in exchange for a
link back to mine. Please blast me an email if interested.
    Thank you!

    • Hi Roxana,

I’m sorry it’s taken me so long to reply. I’ve been in Latvia working on an animated feature and things have been insanely busy. Anyhow, I would be happy to have you write some guest blog posts as long as I can approve them before they get posted. I’m actually planning on revamping the blog soon to make it more about the arts in general and my own work. I wanted to add some music and fine arts posts as well. Anyway, the blog has been pretty stagnant for the last 8 months cause of this job I’ve been doing so I’d be happy for some help with it. Please feel free to let me know what you’re thinking of writing.
